Name three methods for adding Keywords to clips.
Select the clip(s) in the Event Browser, click the Keyword Editor button or use Command K. Type your Keyword and press Return.
If you’ve created a Keyword Shortcut you can select the clip(s) and type the shortcut keys.
Drag clips from the browser to an existing Keyword Collection folder in the Event Library.
In the Event Browser, what does a blue or purple line indicate?
Blue -user added Keyword
Purple -system added Keyword
How do you delete a Keyword range or multiple Keyword ranges from a clip?
Set the Event Browser to list view
Select the Keyword appearing below the clip
Press Delete
To remove all Keywords at once: Select clip In the menu bar Mark>Remove All Keywords or Control 0
How do you add a keyword to only the selected range?
Mark the range first then use any of the three methods available to add a Keyword.
How can you add a note to a clip in the browser?
Select the clip or range first
Click in the Note column field in the Event Browser
Enter your text and press return
How do you view only those clips you rated as favorites?
Select the Event you want to search
Open Filter window at the top of the Event Browser
Choose Favorites
How do you add a rating to a clip?
Select the clip(s)
Favorite: click the green star in the menu bar or press f (green line on clip)
Reject: click the red X in the menu bar or press the Delete Key (red line on clip)
To clear all ratings type U or click the star outline in the menu bar
What is the difference between a Keyword Collection and a Smart Collection?
A Smart Collection will continue to update as new clips are added to the selected Event. A Keyword collection is static based upon what was there when you created the collection.
Keyword collections can only be based on Keywords.
Smart Collections have a much wider range of available search criteria based on camera metadata like frame rate or size.
Clips can be assigned to multiple searches.
How do you create a new Smart Collection?
Use the filter popup menu to set one or more search criteria
Choose New Smart Collection
A folder will appear in your event library
Type a name for the new collection and press return
How do you search for a clip that isn’t part of a Keyword Collection?
Choose No Ratings or keywords from the filter popup menu.
In the search field, enter the clip name. Only clips with matching text in their names or notes will appear in the list.
