A slip trim adjusts the start and end points of a single clip without changing the duration of the project. This edit is used when you like the clip’s length and Timeline location but you want to use a different section of the media.

Sliding affects the position of the middle clip and the durations of the two surrounding clips. When you slide a clip you don’t change its length or the selection of the original content. You only change its location in the project.
