Define timecode.
A signal recorded with your video that uniquely identifies each frame. By default, timecode appears in Final Cut Pro in the format hours: minutes seconds: frames.

What are the project properties?
These are the project’s video, audio, and render properties. You can set them manually or Final Cut Pro will manage the properties automatically based on the first clip you add to the project.
How do you change a project’s settings?
Select your project>
Choose Window>Project Properties>Click the inspector button>info>Modify Settings.
Any changes should be based on how you intend to finally share out your project.
How do you save a project or changes in Final Cut Pro?
Final Cut Pro automatically saves all the changes you make as you work on a project. You never have to save changes manually.
How often does Final Cut Pro make automatic backups of your library?
Every 15 minutes. Backups are saved with the time and date in the filename.
How do you select an entire clip?
- Click the clip once
- Move the skimmer over the clip and press X
- In the Browser, use the up or down arrow from a selected clip to another selected clip.
- In the Browser, Option-Drag from start to end of the clip
- In the Timeline move the skimmer, or the play head if skimming is turned off, over the clip you want to select and press C. This method selects the clip in the primary storyline.
What is the difference between selected and deselected clips in the Browser.
Selected clips have a thick yellow border. Deselected clips have a thin yellow border.
What are two ways to select clips
Drag within a clip if it’s the first selection.
Command>drag within a clip to add a second selection
Command click a colored marker line at the top of a clip.
Remove an individual range in a clip.
Option>click the range or choose Mark>Clear Selected Ranges or press option-x
To remove all ranges choose Edit>Select All (or command A) to select then press Command X
What do you do to go to the start of a range selection.
Choose Mark>Go To>Range Start or press shift I
What do you do to go to the end of the range selection?
Choose Mark>Go To>Range End or press Shift-O.
what do you do to select the previous clip?
Press shift-up arrow
What do you do to select the next clip?
Press shift-down arrow
What shortcut key over writes a clip in Final Cut Pro?
From the menu bar you can go to Edit>Overwrite

What is an audition?
You can organize related clips into sets, called auditions, from which you can choose one clip to use. When you record live audio, you can have Final Cut Pro automatically group multiple takes into auditions. Auditions appear in the browser and timeline as clips with an audition icon in the upper left corner.
