What is the difference between rectangles and circles on the audio control panel (ACP)?

A

The top row of buttons (rectangular buttons) select the transmission channel. Circles are for receptions.

What does the MIC button do on the ACP?

A

Microphone selector buttons. Related communication channel is enabled for transmission and reception. When selected, a green bar illuminates inside the button.

Understand the function and operation of the EMER, RAMP, and CAB buttons.

A

EMER:

RAMP: Ramp call button. When pressed, communication is enabled with ramp personnel. Also, a single HI/LO is heard.
-Note: Ramp personnel may also call the cockpit. The pilots hear a single HI/LO and see a flashing light inside the button. It is pressed to answer the call. SkyWest Operation: This is used to coordinate pushback with ramp personnel.

Cabin Call Button:
Calls the FA (flight attendant). When pressed:
-A single HI/LO chime sounds over the PA system.
-A green light
