Q

After turning Batteries 1 and 2 to “ON’ and “AUTO,” what three things are we looking for?

A
  1. Ensure airplane is not moved until IESS is initialized (90 seconds after power up)
  2. Verify that only displays 2 and 3 are available. When more than displays 2 and 3 are available, the airplane must not be dispatched
  3. Check the battery voltages on the MFD Status Page >22.5 volts

Q

What test begins when AC power is applied to the aircraft?

A

Electrical PBIT (E-PBIT) Electrical Power Up Built In Test

Allow the E-PBIT to finish before turning on any hydraulic pumps. Interruption of the E-PBIT may result in a FLIGHT CONTROL NO DISPATCH Caution EICAS message

The test is interrupted when:
-Any hydraulic pump is running
-The Flight Control Mode Panel switches are cycled
-The AC power supply is interrupted

A FLT CTRL TEST IN PROG Status message is displayed to indicate the PBIT is in progress
