Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) is composed of:
- combined arms battalion(s)
- cavalry squadron
- fires battalion
- engineer battalion
- support battalion
-includes 6 tank companies, 4 mechanized companies, 3 cavalry troops, 3 scout platoons, and 3 mortar platoons
Capabilities of the ABCT
Conducts offensive, defensive, and stability/support ops in support of Combatant Commander objectives providing armored firepower with tanks, mechanized infantry, and self propelled artillery
Capabilities of the IBCT (infantry BCT)
Conducts offensive, defense, and stability/support ops in support of the Combatant CO objectives providing light infantry, towed artillery, and motorized reconnaissance
Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) is composed of:
- infantry battalion(s)
- cavalry squadron
- fires battalion
- engineer battalion
- support battalion
- includes rifle companies, cavalry troops, heavy weapons companies, battalion scout platoons, mortar platoons, and mortar sections
- do have vehicles
- more mobile than ABCTs, but less firepower
- can conduct ops by land/air/amphibious
- not used for DSCA operations because always on standby
Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) is composed of:
- stryker battalion
- cavalry squadron
- fire battalion
- engineer battalion
- support battalion
-greater firepower than IBCTs, more mobile than ABCTs

Conducts offensive, defensive, and stability/support operations in support of Combatant CO objectives providing a highly lethal and mobile brigade with combined arms firepower
