16
Q

Action: Trapezius

A

Superior (descending fibers): elevate scapula/shoulders maintaining level of shoulders against gravity or resistance

Middle fibers: retract scapula

Inferior fibers (ascending fibers): depress scapula/shoulders

Superior & Inferior fibers together: rotate the glenoid cavity of the scapulae superiorly; with shoulders fixed, bilateral contraction extends the neck; unilateral contraction produces lateral flexion to the same side

17
Q

Origin: Levator Scapula

A

Posterior tubercles of transverse processes of C1-C4 vertebrae

18
Q

Insertion: Levator Scapula

A

Medial border of scapula superior to the root of the scapular spine

19
Q

Innervation: Levator scapula

A

Dorsal scapular nerve (C4, C5) & Cervical (C3, C4) nerves

20
Q

Action: Levator Scapula

A

Elevates scapula & rotates its glenoid cavity inferiorly by rotating scapula
