Anorexia nervosa
Eating disorder characterized by extreme fear of weight-gain and severely restricted eating
Binge-eating disorder
Eating disorder characterized by episodes of extreme overeating

A screening index for weight-related illnesses defined as weight(kg)/height(m)2
Bulimia nervosa
Eating disorder characterized by binge-purge episodes
Carbohydrate loading
High carbohydrate intake in the days leading up to the competition to maximize glycogen stores
Diet-induced thermogenesis
The increase in energy expenditure above RMR due to digestion that can be measured for several hours after a meal
Disordered eating
Psychological issues around food and eating that are not severe enough to be classified as an eating disorder

Isocaloric
Equal in calories but not necessarily in macronutrient proportions

Extreme overweight defined as a BMI above 30.0

Meal eaten before competing to provides fluid to maintain adequate hydration and carbohydrate to maximize blood glucose and stored glycogen levels
Voluntary dehydration
Intentionally dehydrating oneself via various methods such as sauna and water restriction
