A
  • Do not give to patients that have ASTHMA or NASAL POLYPS=clarify order or notify hcp
  • PEPTIC ULCER disease patients cannot take nsaids
  • BAD FOR PATIENTS WITH A CLOT HISTORY
  • notify hcp of all types of bleeding key words: easily bruise or black tarry stools or coffee-ground emesis=tell the doctor
  • never take 2 nsaids simultaneously instead use the lowest dose for the shortest time

A

do not give with anticoagulants
DO NOT GIVE TO CHILDREN WITH viral infection/flu like symptoms due to Reye’s Syndrome. so no alive virus like influenza or varicella!!!
stop taking 1 week before surgery.
DO NOT GIVE ANY SALICYLATE TYPE MEDICATIONS LIKE PEPTO-BISMOL AKA BISMUTH SUBSALICYLATE.
