A

Expect: CAPTOPRIL
NOTE: ace inhibitor side effects= captopril
-Cough
-Anaphylaxis=allergic reaction
-Palpitations
-Taste changes aka alter TASTE
-Orthostatic Hypotension
-Potassium increase=hyperkalemia
-Renal impairment
-Impotence=inability of a man to have an orgasm
-Leukocytosis= elevated white blood cell count

  • Dry mouth
  • Angioedema
  • Steven Johnson Syndrome
  • headache
  • dizziness

  • monitor blood pressure=orthostatic hypotension
  • Monitor BUN and creatinine due to renal impairment
  • monitor electrolytes and wbc due to potassium increase and leukocytosis
