What view is the Norma Verticalis
From the top of the skull
Name the bones you can see in this view
Frontal, left and right parietal, occipital
Name the main 3 sutures
Coronal (across the front), sagittal (down the middle), lambdoid (across the back)
Name the measurement point we can see
Glabella (mid point between the eyebrows)
Name the two suture meeting points
Bregma (top) and lambda (bottom)
What’s the hole called found alongside Sagittal suture
Parietal foramina
What is an ossicle and where are they found
Extra bone, often found in sutures or suture meeting point, then named after that place
What variations can be found
Ossicles, extra sutures - metopic suture (doesn’t always fuse makes two frontal bones), bipartite parietal (splits parietal bone)
What are the superior and inferior points
Top of the head and bottom of the head (neck)
What are the anterior and posterior points
Front of head (forehead) and back of head
