Fluorescent tags- detected via a fluorescent microscope/ photodetector
Enzyme conjugates-
alkaline phosphatase- substrate turns blue
horseradish peroxidase- substrate turns brown

A

Secondary antibodies- amplify the signal- because multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a primary antibody
