Pt seated or standing. Arm flexed to 90 degrees, holding a dynamometer in hand w/wrist slightly extended. Patient squeezes, note grip strength. Then squeeze patient’s forearm just distal to lateral epicondyle and have them squeeze again, noting grip strength.
