Nitroglycerin:precautions
for acute coronary syndrome, perform 12 lead first;watch BP close;ensure patient is sitting or lying down;may sting under tongue or taste bitter;if suspected inferior wall AMI, ensure IV in place prior to administration
Nitroglycerin:side effects
hypotension;headache;postural hypotension/syncope;reflex tachycardia;nausea/vomiting;diaphoresis
Nitroglycerin:contraindications
systolic BP < 90 mmHg;increased intracranial pressure;viagra/levitra in last 24 hrs;cialis in last 48 hrs;hypersensitivity;extreme bradycardias, HR < 50extreme tachycardias, HR > 100
