Argues that members or ‘followers’ of NAM can choose their level of commitment:
- Fully engaged

What is the structure of all 3 NAMs?
Loose knit with no formal structure or organisation
What is the commitment of all 3 NAMs?
No commitment required, the follower decides their level of commitment (Heelas)
What is the world view of New Psychology?
World affirming, with a focus on the important of the inner world and the inner self
What is the social base of New Psychology?
Psychotherapies attract the M/C, spirituality attracts the W/C
What is New Psychology’s attitude to other religions?
Tolerant of other religions so long as the contribute to the development of a better self
What is the world view of New Ecology?
The world needs to be saved from destruction by conservation and send-suffiency
What is the social base of New Ecology?
Mainly M/C (vegan/organic food is expensive) and largely female
What is New Ecology’s attitude to other religions?
Tolerant of other religions particularly those with an interest in the environment

Interested in other-wordy beings and the wider universe
What is the social base of New Science?
Inclusive and universal
What New Science’s attitude to other religions?
Indigent to other traditional religions, but have a beliefs in the super natural in common
