0 - 20+ (if obese, 30+)
1 - 18.5-20
2 - U18.5

Self reported values
Height from ulnar length
BMI from mid upper arm circumference

  • document intake for 3days
  • adequate => same as low risk
  • inadequate => local policy to increase and improve intake

How could you support nutrition intake?

A

Oral intake

  • fortify with milk powders, custard, creams
  • full fat products
  • offer regular snacks

Oral supplements
-fortisip, fortijuice

Enteral feeding

  • unable to tolerate oral intake
  • NG - short term feeding
  • RIG, PEG - long term feeding
  • TPN - non functioning GI with obstruction
