Sulfasalazine MoA?
Inhibition of prostaglandins (systemic and colon anti-inflammatory)
Sulfasalazine CI?
Bowel and urinary obstruction

RA, UC, Chron’s, ankylosing spondylitis
NSAIDS MoA?
Inhibit COX enzyme so decrease prostaglandins and so decrease inflammation
Aspirin, Ibuprofen, diclofenac and celecoxib are examples of?

Think risk of, and pregnancy?
Risk of peptic ulceration
3rd trimester
High stomach bleed risk, HTN, kidney disease, asthma, HSR past
Opiates MoA?
Inhibit NT release; bind to opioid receptor releasing analgesia (mu, delta, kappa)
Opiates x3 CI?
Severe respiratory instability
Acute psychiatric instability
Uncontrolled suicide risk
Opiate antagonist?
Naloxone
Opiates examples?
Methadone, morphine, tramadol, diamorphine, codeine, fentanyl
Ciclosporin MoA?
Inhibit the production of cytokines involved in regulation of T cell antibodies (interleukin 2 in particular)
Ciclosporin CI?
Grapefruit juice, infection, hypercholesterolemia, cancer, malignancy, HTN.
Ciclosporin use?
Organ transplant, nephrotic syndrome, psoriasis, UC, RA, atopic dermatitis
Bisphosphonates MoA?
Inhibit osteoclastic bone resorption
Risedonate, alendronate, ibandronate are examples of?
Bisphosphonates
