Movement Elicitation ORDE - handling and facilitation principles Flashcards
1
Q
ORDER
A
O = observe R = request D = direct E - enhance R - replace
- onece a posture or mvmt component is replaced/assisted > started back at ‘obseve’ to see what the child can now do
2
Q
O
A
observe the childs spontaneous mvmt
- prepare - a safe, appropriate play space/activity

A
Enhance/augment via sensory cueing
* Tactile - guide orientation / stability / mvmt
* proprioception - promote specific muscle activity
eg
Prop: compression (body against surface), approximation (through line of limb into joint, centre of body) - both promote ext.
And distraction (promotes flexion) - stretch generally through midline with rolling

replace posture or movement components
- Stabilisation - of posture for orientation or mvmt.
- Facilitation - of part or all of mvmt.
