Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

A

-Type of psychotherapy that focuses on connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (Cognitive Behavioral Triangle)
-Challenge negative thought patterns
-Change behavior patterns
-Large base of scientific literature demonstrating effectiveness in treating a variety of psychological disorders
-Course of treatment usually lasts between 6-20 sessions
-Some considerations:
-Attending regular CBT sessions
-Completing extra work between sessions
