Q
What topics are considered taboo?
A
There are some subjects that are often considered taboo, such as your students’ age (for adults), religion, politics, sex, or personal beliefs.
These topics may be considered offensive or controversial, such as gay rights, war, domestic violence, drug abuse, polygamy, pregnancy and abortion, death, alcohol, nudity, suicide, racism and racial abuse, or terrorism.
Even what we might consider more neutral topics, like family issues, physical or mental illness, or discussing political leaders, can be taboo in some cultures.
