Mode 5 to Mode 3 Flashcards
What is the Max Press/Temp Limit for CS during SDC Operations?
RCS Pressure shall be <250 PSIA and Temp <200F when CS is aligned to SDC (preclude pump damage)
What are the temperature requirements and bases for initiating/securing SDC?
Initiation: Tcold <350F, <300F for LPSI seals, <180F for Max seal life long term, <135F when more than 4 days
Securing: During HU, stop SDC before >300F prevent thermal bind of LTOPs
How do we increase purification flowrate thru the Letdown line?
- Adjust PIC-201 LD BP Controller for desired flow
- For Increase: Raise DP across system by throttline A/B train SDC valves
NOTE: LD Flow limited to 150 GPM (resin damage)
How is SDC flow throttled, and how low can it go?
- Close down on 1 Injection Valve 1st until fully closed, then close 2nd (minimize cavitation)
- M5 - SDC Flow as low as 3780 GPM. M4 - >210F, Min Flow >4000 GPM
- > 230F = SDC secured
When is a Charging Pump Non-Functional during pulsation dampener adjustment operations?
When put in Pull to Lock
What is Max RCS Temperature before O2 concentration must be within TRM Limits?
Prior to 250F (TLCO 3.4.101)
What is the Vent flowpath of the PZR and RDT?
Steam Bubble: Thru RCA-HV-103 & RCB-HV-105 to RDT
RDT: To Waste Gas Surge Header or Refuel Purge (923)
When a N2 bubble exists on the PZR, what is used to determine proper curve to use for Level?
PZR Temperature (not pressure)
What must level be via LI-103 before energizing PZR Heaters?
25% or Greater
What is the allowed actual max deviation between LI-110X/Y and LI-103?
<3%
When must the use of PZR spray be logged in 40ST-9RC01, RCS PZR HU and CD Rates?
Main Spray: All cycles when <4 RCP’s running
Aux Spray: All cycles
What are the requirements for RCP Seal Injection?
- RCS Level >102’
- RCS Temperature >195F & Pressure >215PSIA
- Stop Seal engaged when secured. Sys Engineer.
- No Seal Injection to ANY RCP if stop seal is on ANY RCP.
Why are “Singe RCP Ops” Limits imposed?
To minimize pump wear due to runout
What are the RCP Temperature Limits?
- 2 RCP’s or less if Tc <200F
- 3 RCP’s or less if Tc 200F to 500F
- Heat Removal via SG’s limited at low RCS temps, HU Rates may be exceeded if 3 RCP’s operating
- After 3rd RCP start, HU rates > 3.4.3, then stop 3rd RCP
Why don’t we start RCP’s when SG Temperatures are greater than RCS Cold Leg Temperatures?
Prevent RCS Over-Pressure
