Personnel taking missing persons reports for persons (18;20) years of age and younger will attempt to obtain the minimum data elements within two hours of initial contact and contact the Records and Fingerprint Bureau NCIC Unit

The first responding patrol officer will immediately contact the NCIC detail at the Records and Fingerprints Bureau to verify that the NCIC entry was complete and obtain a (NIC/NCIC) number

T/F. For Amber Alerts: a. Activate an Amber Alert when a child abduction occurs that meets all the following criteria: 1) Confirmed abduction
2) Child is under (18/20) years old
3) Threat of serious bodily harm or death
4) Information on suspect and/or vehicle.

The Missing Persons Detail will Send the Missing Person Additional Information Form, LVMPD 522, to the person reporting within (30/45) days on all unresolved cases, update case notes and NCIC.

If a missing adult is determined to not be the victim of a crime, endangered or not in a mental health crisis the case (will be/should be) suspended.
