Bullet/burglar resistant glass
Usually laminated and consists of multiple plies of glass, polycarbonate and other plastic films to provide many levels of ballistic resistance.
Laminated glass
Two sheets of ordinary glass bonded to a middle layer of plastic sheeting material. May crack or break but the glass tends to adhere to the plastic.
Wired glass
May still shatter, but provides some resistance against large objects. Often required for certain windows by fire codes.
Tempered glass
Treated to resist breakage….fragments into small pieces rather than shards.
Annealed or plate glass
Breaks into large shards that can cause injury…usually restricted in door panels and fire exits; high risk of breakage and injury.
Examples - regular plate, float sheet rolled and some patterned surface glasses.
Overpressure
The resulting a___ of pressure
Above the a____ v_____
The resulting amount of pressure above the ambient values.
Reflective pressure
The energy of the shock wave that is redirected by objects along the initial pathway…they have the potential to be much stronger than the initial shock wave at the same distance from the detonation.
Shock or blast wave -
The leading edge of the energy wave released by an explosion that rolls out in a circular pattern from the source.
Incendiary thermal effect
Bright flash or fireball at instant of detonation
White light……________
Yellow light______
Bluish light______
White…metal halide good for color cctv
Yellow….high-pressure sodium
Bluish …..mercury vapor
Astragal door flap
