80% of women will experience complete expulsion without surgery or medication
Meds for expectant management
NSAIDs or APAP for pain
Medical management medication
Misoprostol 800mcg vaginally, may repeat if needed in 7 days
May also use NSAIDs or APAP for pain management
Surgical evaluation for miscarriage
Also an option but it’s more costly and comes with more risks
Patient counseling on miscarriage
May attempt to conceive immediately, hormonal contraception can be initiated immediately, genetic workup may be needed after 2 consecutive miscarriages
