Ethnic minority barriers

A

Racial discrimination: unfair treatment of people based on race due to prejudice
Inner city facilities: ethnic groups based in cities where the facilities are poor
Positive discrimination: favouritism for an ethnic group in order to give them a chance
Stereotyping: some participates are channelled into certain sports or positions within sport based on their race
Excellent role models for spit but due to there being so many excellent sports people it is accurately believe that there is not a problem

A

Raise awareness of racial inequality in sport, e,g kick it out
More officials, coaches and team managers
Role models: increase participation to encourage more role models from ethnic minorities
Cultural provision: provide for cultural groups to allow them to pursue their own cultural activities

Media: greater media coverage to women’s sport to allow for more followers models
Sponsorship: women’s sport accounts for only 0.5% of the total UK market
