- Tiena (PEDIS, CRURIS, CAPITIS, barbae, ungium)
subcutaneous
Involves dermis, muscle, etc

- Brown/black macules on palms/ soles
- Asymptomatic
- Only dead tissue colonized (no immune response)

Black Piedra (Piedraia hortae) Clinical
- SCALP hair
- Hard/gritty/black/brown nodules
- Contain asci (spore sacks)

Tropics
Dermatophytes: Trichophyton spp, Microsporum spp, Epidermophyton Transmission
Person-Person via fomites (anthropophilic), zoophilic, Geophilic (soil)
