What is cohort design?
A
Comparing individuals born at different points in history at the same stages of development. Enables us to learn about the effects of historical change.

What are extraneous variables?
A
Non-controlled variables that may influence the dependent variable.

What are confounding variables?
A
Non-controlled variables that influence the dependent variable differently according to the different levels of the independent variable

What are quasi-experiments?
A
A quasi-experiment is one where it is not possible to allocate participants randomly to the different conditions of the independent variable.
