- Interferes with release and re-uptake of neurotransmitters at post-synaptic terminals
- Activates inhibitory receptor (GABA)
- Induces muscle relaxation

Methoxyflurane Contraindications?
A
- Pre-existing renal disease (Transforms into fluoride -> reduced kidney function leads to build up of Fluoride -> inhibition of tubular reabsorption -> disruption to collagen synthesis -> Renal damage
- Malignant Hyperthermia (Anaesthetics can induced Fatal Hyperthermia, rigid muscles/spasms

A
- no more than 6mL in the last 24hours
- Methoxy should not be administered in a confined space

Methoxyflurane adverse effects
A
- CNS: Dizziness, Drowsiness
- CV: Hypotension
- GIT: Nausea and vomiting
