How does Aspirin work?
A
Aspirin works by inhibiting platelet aggregation, reducing thrombin formation
Aspirin also has anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis

What are the contraindications for Aspirin
A
- Hypersensitivity
- Active bleeding peptic ulcer
- Bleeding disorders
- Suspected dissecting aortic aneurysm
- Chest pain associated with psycho stimulant overdose AND a blood pressure greater than 160

What are the precautions for aspirin
A
- Peptic ulcer
- Asthma
- Patients on Anticoagulants

- Heartburn, nausea, GI bleeding
- Increased bleeding
- Hypersensitivity reactions
