P - Profiles of sport and participation rates increase. However, not all sports are seen equally at major games eg. Netball not in the olympics

R - Role models are created that can increase the exposure of the sport and increase participation. However, this can lead to an increase in deviancy with athletes tempted to cheat to succeed

O - Organised and better structured sport with more clubs for people to join. However, access to many clubs is not equal (men/women)

F - Facilities left behind for everyone to use and develop more elite talent. However, some facilities cost a lost of money to build then don’t get used much after the games

F - Funding and sponsorship increases for the sport. However, finding is withdrawn if sports are not successful at the games

S - Sports can now become more professional with more money to invest. However, this can go against the amateur ideals and origins of many sports

P - Participation increases and society gets healthier. However, many still choose to watch and remind inactive

E - Employment, jobs are created in getting ready for the games eg. Construction. However, once the games are over, the jobs no longer exist

N - National pride. The games generate a feel good factor in the host country. However, it can lead to nationalism and racism

T - Transport links are improved. However, this can lead to pollution and congestion

T - Tourism is increased. However, this can also lead to increased threat of terrorism
