Indications for dopamine
Severe hypotension without hypovolemia (poor vasomotor tone//cardiogenic shock)
Dopamine dosage for hypotension
10-20 mcg/kg/min IV drip
Indicated for hyperkalemia, Hypoglycemia, hypermagnesemia, or Ca channel blocker OD
Calcium chloride
Adult dose for CA chloride
500-1000 mg slow IV
Sodium channel blocker used to prolong cardiac action potential & refractory period; given for VF, unstable VT & some atrial rhythms
Amiodarone
Adult VF/VT arrest dose for amiodarone
300 mg IV or IO, repeat 1x @ 150mg
Amiodarone dose for VT with a pulse
150 mg IV or IO
Adult dose for procainamide, for stable VT
20 mg/min IV drip
For SVT that doesn’t respond to adenosine, administration of ___ should be considered
Procainamide
Narrow complex, multifocal atrial tachycardias and SVT that don’t respond to adenosine are indications for administration of ___
Diltiazem
Initial Adult dose for diltiazem
0.25 mg/kg IV over 2 minutes
Repeat adult dose for diltiazem
0.35 mg/kg over 2 minutes
Class 3 antiarrhythmic (potassium channel blocker) that has beta-adrenergic and calcium channel blocking activity
Amiodarone
Amiodarone is indicated for:
VF/VT arrest, VT w/ pulse
Atropine dose for adult bradycardia (unstable)
0.5 mg every 3-5 minutes
Adult atropine dose for organophosphate poisoning
1-5 mg every 3-5 min, until bronchial secretions cease
An adult with stable VT with a pulse should receive (drug/dose)
Lidocaine/0.5-0.75 mg/kg
A patient experiencing PVCs would benefit from:
Lidocaine
If the cardiac monitor shows torsades de pointes and your patient is awake, consider administering:
Magnesium sulfate 1-2g in 100mL D5W over 5-60 minutes
Adult morphine dose
2-5 mg IV every 5-10 minutes
___ is indicated for ACS chest pain due to its ability to reduce preload and dilate blood vessels
Morphine
Narcan dose
0.5-2 mg IV/IOIN/IM/ETT
