Medial Thigh: Adductors Flashcards
Innervation of adductor longus
Obturator nerve
O and I of adductor longus
O: body if pubis inferior to pubic crest
I: middle 3rd of linea aspera of femur
Action of adductor longus
Adducts thigh
Origin and insertion of adductor brevis
O: body and inferior ramus of pubis
I: Pectineal line and proximal part of linea aspera of femur
Innervation of adductor brevis
Obturator nerve
Action of adductor brevis
Adducts thigh and some flexion
O and I of adductor Magnus ( adductor and hamstring part)
Adductor part
O: inferior ramus of pubis and ramus if ischium
I: gluteal tuberosity , linea aspera, medial supra condylar line
Hamstring part
O: ischial tuberosity
I: adductor tubercle of femur
Innervation of adductor Magnus
Adductor part - obturator nerve
Hamstring part - tibial part of sciatic nerve
Action of adductor Magnus
Adducts thigh
Adductor part - flexes thigh
Hamstring part - extends thigh
O and I of gracilis
O: body of inferior ramus of pubis
I: superior part of medial surface of tibia
Innervation of gracious
Obturator nerve
Action if gracilis
Adducts thigh
Flexes leg
Helps rotate leg medially
Obturator externus o and I
O: margins of obturator foramen and obturator membrane
I: trochanteric fossa of femur
Obturator externus Innervation
Obturator nerve
Action of obturator externus
Laterally rotates thigh, steadies head of femur in acetabulum
