  • 10% of population killed in 1994
  • radio communication fuelled the conflict
  • various stratergies designed to reduce prejudice between groups, addressing isssues of: mistrust, lack of communication and interaction etc
  • year long field study
  • examining effects of the radio programme on: beliefs, perceptions of social norms and behaviours
  • found groups who listened to the programmes were more likely to negotiate and cooperate with the other group
