Q

What is the Respiratory Exchange Ratio (RER)
-Mention the formula
-What do specific values mean

A

-The ratio of carbon dioxide produced comared to oxygen consumed and is a measure of exercise intensity

-RER=CO2 produceed per min/O2 consumed per min

Values:
Close to 0.7=Performer is using fats
Close to 1=performer is using carbohydrates
Above 1=Performer is working anaerobically
