What conditions may affect the accuracy of a disto and how?
A
Conditions such as extreme weather such as cold conditions, strong light (requires natural sunlight), uneven surfaces, dust and humidity may affect the infra red light and accuracy may be affected over long distances.

Why is it important to check a distos accuracy prior to use?
A
To ensure precision in measurements. Regular checks can help identify any inaccuracies due to wear and tear of the instrument, battery status or calibration issues, by preventing any potential errors in the instrument.
