Why was a permit to work required for the gutter clean at the unit in Aberdeen?

A

Contractors were working at height with a MEWP, this is classed a high risk works resulting in a permit to height being issued.

Could you explain the process you follow when high-risk works are being completed?

A
  • Instruct works – issue a PO
  • Request RAMS
  • Review RAMS
  • Issue relevant permit to Work
  • Ensure all permits are logged on the central tracker and saved in a central location

  • How they were going to complete the work
  • What equipment would they be using
  • How they perceive the risk involved in the works, and how they would mitigate these risks

Were there any challenges or issues faced while carrying out the gutter clean of the FRI unit?

A

No, the unit was vacant therefore there were no tenants involved who we had to coordinate the works with. All works were completed externally therefore we did not need to arrange access/keys to allow the works to progress.
