Overall productivity increased
Employees feel safe and secure at work
Employees feel more wanted- lower staff turnover/absenteeism
Improves management capabilities as they are transformed into role models which pushes them to better themselves and work harder
Limitation of Maslow’s hierarchy if needs x4
Self-actualisation is very different for different people
Employees need change over tim
No way to measure satisfaction- some satisfied after physiological whereas other will not be fulfilled by all the levels
Self-esteem and safety are very broad and can change according to cultures and demographics
Physiological needs
The most basic needs that a human wants e.g. job, regular income, home, food, water.
Safety needs
Training, contract, safe working conditions
Social needs
Social needs come from an external space e.g. friends, comfort, love, team work
Self-esteem needs
Embracing individuality and respect from yourself and others e.g. status, performance based pay
Self-actualisation needs
When a person is fulfilled in what they’re doing, personal and professional e.g. personal best, chance of promotion.
