What does the IOPPC Certify? Valid? Surveys? What info is contained?
IOPP- Certifies the ship has been Surveyed in compliance with MARPOL Annex 1. With regards Construction and Equipment.
Applies to Ships 400gt+
Valid for 5 years, subject to Annual and Intermediate.
Contains Ship Particulars - Name of Ship. Port of Reg. GT. Call Sign. IMO No.
What is on Form A of the IOPP?
FORM A - Record of Construction and Equipment for ships other than Oil Tankers.
Ship Particulars- Name, Call Sign, Port of Reg, IMO No, GT.
Type of Oil Filtering Equipment.
Oil Content Meter
Details on Holding Tanks for Oily Bilge and Sludge. (Shows Frame No. Position Onboard, Volume)
Certifies the ship has been provided with a SOPEP in compliance with MARPOL.
Compliance with relevant part of Polar Code (Tanks containing oil should be separated from the outer shell by 0.76m)
What does the IAPPC Certify? Valid? Surveys? What info is contained?
IAPP- Certifies the ship has been Surveyed in compliance with MARPOL Annex 6 (Prevention of Pollution by Air). With regards the Control of Emissions.
Applies to Ships 400gt +
Valid for 5 years subject to an Annual and Intermediate.
Contains Ship Particulars - Name of Ship, Port of Reg, GT, Call Sign, IMO No.
What Form is Attached to the IAPP?
Record of Construction and Equipment.
Ship Particulars
-Ozone Depleting Substances - HALON and CFCs now
Banned. Relates to old refrigeration units and FFE.
-NOx Levels on Each Engine - What TIER they fall under.
(Also includes Make and Model of the Engines and
rated Power)
-SOx levels burnt when in ECA and Outside ECA
-If the Ship has an Incinerator or not.
What is the EIAPP? Validity?
Engine international Air Pollution Prevention Certificate.
Cert is valid for the Life of the Engine subject to Surveys.
Issued for each Diesel Engine onboard – Shows they have been certified in compliance with the NOx Technical Code.
Each engine shall include a Technical File to assist surveyors. Technical File is made by Manufacturers and approved by Flag.
What is the IEEC? Validity?
International Energy Efficiency Certificate. – One time Issue.
Certifies the ship has been surveyed in accordance with the relevant parts of MARPOL Annex 6, regulation 20,21,22
Applies to all ships 400gt+
What is the SEEMP?
The shipboard energy efficient management plan –
Encourages Ship owners to monitor and improve the energy efficiency of their ship.
To assist in lower GHG of Shipping.
How often is SEEMP updated?
Figures are added daily such as;
Fuel Levels.
Distance Traveled.
Bunkers taken.
Then the Plan is completed each year figures crunched and final numbers sent to Flag.
What is the ISPPC? Validity? Info contained?
International Sewage Pollution Prevention Certificate.
Applies to Ships 400gt+
Valid for 5 Years subject to Renewal only (no other surveys required)
Shows the ship is in compliance of MARPOL Annex 4.
Ships Particulars – including no of persons ship is certified to carry.
Has a sewage Treatment plant – Name and Manufacturer.
Capacity and location of Sewage Holding Tank.
What form is attached to the IEEC?
Record of Construction related to Energy Efficiency.
