When is discharge of oil or oily mixtures allowed, outside of a special area?
When ALL of the following are satisfied:
*Ship is proceeding en route
*Oily mixture is processed through an oil filter
*Oil content does not exceed 15ppm
* 12 miles from land
When is discharge of oil or oily mixtures allowed, inside of a special area?
When ALL of the following are satisfied:
*Ship is proceeding en route
*Oily mixture is processed through a oil filtering equipment meeting regulation 14.7 of this Annex
- The system shall also have an automatic shutoff if oil content exceeds 15ppm
*Oil content does not exceed 15ppm
** Any discharge in the Antarctic area is prohibited

What does sewage include?
*Drainage and other waste from any for of toilet
*Drainage from medical premises, wash basins
*Drainage from spaces containing living animals

The discharge of sewage is prohibited, except when?
Annex 4
*Comminuted and disinfected sewage, more than 3 Miles from land, Or 12M from land if not
*moving at least 4Knots, dicharching at a suitable rate
*The ship has an approved and certified treatment plant
*Test results of the Sewage plant are recorded in the Ships international Sewage Pollution Prevention Certificate
*The effluent shall not produce visable floating solids nor cause discoloration of the water

When can you discharge cleaning agents used in wash water for the exterior?
Providing they are not harmful to the marine environment. Discharge permitted, including special areas

What does MSN 1819 Say about certificates?
States that Annex 6 requires any engine of more than 130KWs on a 400GT ship to be Surveyed in compliance with the Annex 6 technical code
Ift should then be issued an Engine International Air Pollution Prevention Certificate (EIAPP)
