Milk allergy - prognosis
IgE milk allergy
- grow out of it
IgE mediated CMA
- who is it most seen in?
rapid onset
- breast fed baby, on formula between 4 and 6 months - rapid onset of urticaria and angiooedema
- histamine based reactions
- vomiting, diarrhoea
how can IgE be identified?
SPT
or SPIgE
non IgE mediated CMA
- varied presentation - give examples?
non histamine based
- diarrhoea, vomiting, irritability , eczema, bloating, PR bleeding
mothers who remove cows milk need supplemented in ?
calcium and vitamin D
2nd line formula you can use?
EHF with/without lactose
PHF is given when?
- they are still exposed to cows milk protein to help reintroduce
