Clarification to vehicle release procedures for cars impounded for 30 days (14602.6)
A vehicle impounded for 30 days SHALL be released, upon request, to legal owner / registered owner, upon providing proof of 1. Current Registration 2. Payment of fees 3. Proof of Valid Driver License.
**Once this criteria has ben met, vehicle shall be released REGARDLESS of how long the vehicle has been in impound.
Senior Volunteer Program ID cards and ID numbers
COMR assigns SVP ID numbers. These numbers are issued once and will be retired upon that SVP’s separation from Dept.
SVP badges are permanently numbered, assigned and engraved by COMR. Permanently assigned to that volunteer. They keep their badge when transferring to different Area. They have to return them when leave SVP program.
Media Access to areas around a command post, riot, civil disturbance, etc.
Basically, media reps still get access to these areas. Police can’t deny them access to an area where people are engaged in First Amendment activities.
Even if an event is declared unlawful, a media rep shall not be cited for failure to disperse or for violating curfew.
They can pass through line formations, even after an order to disperse has been given.
Officers shall activate body worn camera during these activities:
- enforcement contacts (and peds)
- vehicle searches / inventories
- ADV’s
- Confrontational interactions with members of public
- Pat down frisks / searches

Recorded evidence shall be retained for a period of not less than ______
Non-evidentiary recordings may be purged after _____ days
Not less than a year
Purge after 60 days
Supervisors shall review a minimum of ___ BWC recordings in conjunction with an officers annual evaluation
