A

What is the building safety act?

A

The Building Safety Bill is designed to give residents more power to hold builders and developers to account and toughen sanctions against those who threaten their safety

Two New Roles
Building Safety Regulator - Responsible for overseeing the safety and performance of the building and enforce/act on the rules, including how they are designed, constructed and occupied.

Accountable Person(s) - Typically the owner, freeholder or management company. Responsible for the building and updating the Safety Case Report.

Applies to buildings over 18m high or 7 storeys.
