A

No early investigations - culture, antibody detection is low yield

late stage of disease - immunoblot techniques and antibody detection

Management of Lyme disease?

A

early disease - Oral abx - 2 week course: doxycycline (200mg) or Amoxicillin ( 3x500mg daily)

late disease - abx >28 days

Prognosis of Lyme disease?

A

2-4 weeks cured with abx

can get Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS). no treatment
