PEE: circinate balanitis, urethritis

A

Synovial joint aspiration for culture, gram staining and analysis

Crystal examination for gout and pseudogout

HLA B27 gene

Hisotry shows recent illness

Common pathogens for reactive arthritis?

A

Chlamydia
Gastroenteritis causing bacteria; salmonella, campylobacter, shingles, E. coli

Management for reactive Arthritis?

A

Ensure not septic
Then NSAIDS
Steroid injections if not working

If not resolved in 6 months, DMARDS and Anti- TNFs
