- oligo- or polyarthritis
- renal/ immune-mediated glomerular nephritis

What’s the causative agent and vector for Lyme disease?
A
Borrelia spp (gram negative spirochete), found in ticks (Ixodes)

How is it treated?
A
Doxycycline, if patient is clinical

How is it diagnosed?
A
Blood serology test, as the spirochete migrates interstitially and is not found in the blood, so look for antibody formation.
Idexx Snap 4Dx, or other quantitative test (better for establishing baseline)

How severe is Lyme disease in cats?
A
Cats don’t typically have clinical signs of Lyme disease

What’s the best way to prevent Lyme disease?
A
Appropriate tick control. Vaccine is controversial
