Lu177 Flashcards
What is the half-life of Lu177?
6.6 days
What are the energies of Lu177?
0.5 MeV (beta minus); 113 and 208 keV (gamma)
What is brand name for Lu177?
Luthathera Dotatate
Lu177 Luthathera Dotatate
It is a radiolabeled somatostatin analog indicated for the treatment of somatostatin receptor-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, including foregut, midgut, and hindgut neuroendocrine tumors in adults.
Lu177 Luthathera Dotatate Clinical Pharmacology
It binds to somatostatin recreceptors with highest affinity for subtype 2 receptors (SSRT2). Upon binding to somatostatin receptor expressing cells, including malignant somatostatin receptor-positive tumors, the compound is internalized. The beta emission from Lu 177 induces cellular damage by formation of free radicals in somatostatin receptor-positive cells and in neighboring cells.
Lu177 Luthathera Dotate Dose & Administration
The recommended LUTATHERA dose is 7.4 GBq (200 mCi) every 8 weeks for a total of 4 doses.
Which group of receptors does Lu177 bind to?
somatostatin receptors
What does the beta emission of Lu177 induce?
the cellular damage by the formation of free radicals in somatostatin receptor-postitive cells and in neighboring cells.
What does Lu177 treat?
treatment of somatostatin receptor-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, including foregut, midgut, and hindgut neuroendocrine tumors in adults
