LOAs / Memorandoms Flashcards
(FBK - FAI)
What must FBK provide
FBK ATCT must provide airport traffic control services at FBK AAF during hours of ops, and has continuous control of FBK class D airspace for the control of VFR aircraft except when the reported weather is below basic VFR minima.
GCA must provide PAR-SAR approach service upon request
When will FAI inform GCA of inbound aircraft
Prior to flying to 15 flying miles from FBK AAF
How shall FAI handoff ASR and PAR aircraft
On downwind heading 070° descending to or level at the minimum vectoring altitude.
When traffic conditions do not permit handoff on the downwind leg, coordinate a heading to be flown and handoff the aircraft at least 10 flying miles from the runway.
When appropriate, issue missed approach / climb out instructions
“fly heading 150°, climb and maintain 3,000”
FBK must for FAI
Advise FAI TRACON when tower opens/closes
Advise FAI TRACON of any changes when weather decreases below or increases to/ above VFR minima
Assign a STARS code for VFR departures requesting radar services or maintenance test flights. Enter aircraft ID, use scratch pad for type of aircraft
Inform FAI TRACON of each ATIS code change via GI message to printer 27 indicating facility, new code, time of observation, small weather sequence.
VFR include wind and altimeter
IFR include wind, controlling weather elementsand altimeter
All aircraft arriving/departing FAI are automatically approved to transition through FBK class D airspace when….
Aircraft is at or above 2,500’ MSL
FBK GCA must ensure aircraft handed off by FAI TRACON, or aircraft maintaining VFR under FBK GCA control…
Remain within 4 NM of the final approach course and within 12 NM final of the landing runway, unless otherwise coordinated.
Advise FAI TRACON of:
Missed approach
Radar contact lost
Cancellation of IFR
FBK missed approach
Execute climbing left turn heading 150°, maintain 3,000, contact departure on 125.35
Missed approach VFR
Proceed visually to the runway, contact FBK ATCT on 125.0
ODO
Opposite direction operations
All IFR ODO must be coordinated via the recorded FAI / FBK shout line.
Must state “OPPOSITE DIRECTION ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE”
Include cad-sign, aircraft type, arrival / departure runway
Opposite direction operations traffic phraseology
“OPPOSITE DIRECTION TRAFFIC (distance) MILE FINAL, (type aircraft).”
“OPPOSITE DIRECTION TRAFFIC DEPARTING RUNWAY (number), (type aircraft).”
Use of visual separation is not authorized for aircraft receiving IFR services that are….
Conducting ODO to the same runway
UAS traffic Pattern altitude
1,500’ MSL
UAS minimum vertical separation
500’
UAS wake turbulence
Great all UAS as a small aircraft
Issue cautionary wake turbulence advisories, and position, altitude, and direction of flight to the pilot/operator of UAS landing behind all manned aircraft regardless of weight class
May not be waved by operator
