P - Pitch
A - Abnormal Attitudes
R - Roll
A - Aileron Droop
A - Autopilot Acquisition
A - Activates the Protections
ELAC 1 normally controls ailerons
ELAC 2 normally controls elevators and horizontal stabilizer
FO PFD, and ND, System Display go dark what have you lost
AC Bus 2
FO PFD, ND and System display get white lines what have you lost
DMC 2
Auto Land Light On
- Excessive ILS beam deviation
- Loss or Disconnection of both AP
- ILS transmitter failure
- Difference between RAs excessive >15ft
Flashing Align on IRs
No PPos in 10 mins
Alignment Fault
60 mile position error or 1 degree longitude
IR fault light Solid
IR dead, Fault in IR
IR fault light flashing
- IR almost dead. May be recovered
IR in ATT mode can be used for Attitude and heading but no navigation
ADIRS ON BAT Light
- Power up turns on as a test
- IRs powered by batteries
- All three will be powered for 5 mins, then shed two not used by Captain, usually 2 and 3.
Command Red Evac
Flashes red when pb is pushed. On white also comes on. Horn sounds in cockpit. Evacuation signal sounds in cabin and evac signal flashes at FA stations
Evac horn shut off push button
Silences Evac horn in cockpit
Evac switch
Cap & purser mode means evacuation can be selected from both cabin and cockpit.
Capn mode means evacuation can only be selected from cockpit
Emer Elec Pwr panel
Emer gen test
Only used by MX
Emer Elec Pwr
Gen 1 Line amber smoke
- Smoke in the avionics bay
- Confirmed by fault on blower and extract pb’s
Emer Elec Pwr
Gen 1 Line off
- Removes gen 1 from electrical system and dedicates it to number 1 pumps in both inner tanks
Emer Elec Pwr
Rat & Emer gen red fault
Emergency gen is not yet powering the electrical system
Emer Elec Pwr
Man on guarded pb
Pushed to manually deploy rat - only by ECAM commands
GPWS
TER fault
Enhanced terrain database fault still retain all other EGPWS modes
GPWS
SYS Fault
Fault in GPWS system lose modes 1-5. Still have the Terrain functions if turned off.
GPWS
G/S MODE OFF
Fault in ILS system turn off to silence Glide slope warnings
GPWS
FLAP MODE OFF
Irregular flap landing turn off to prevent “Too low flaps” warnings
GPWS
LDG FLAPS 3 ON
Turn on for all flaps 3 landings
Flaps 3 recommended when landing in ice or wind shear
RCDR
GND CTL Auto modes
Power on for 5 minutes following AC power
Turns on after 1st engine start, turns off 5 minutes after second engine shut down
In Flight
RCDR
GND CTL Blue ON
Manually powers on CVR to record checklists and briefings.
RCDR
CVR erase pb
Erases CVR.
- held for 2 sec
- on ground, parking break set
RCDR
CVR test pb
To test CVR parking break must be on and CVR powered. Horn will sound with good test
OXYGEN
MASK MAN ON guarded pb
Pushed to manually deploy pax oxy masks
Broadcasts pre recorded commands
Oxygen
Passenger white sys on
Signal has been sent to deploy pax oxy masks. Remains on until OXYGEN TMR RESET pushed on MX overhead panel.
OXYGEN
Mask man on auto mode
Pax oxy masks auto deploy at cabin altitude of 14000 ft or greater.
OXYGEN
CREW SUPPLY white off
Closes valve to crew oxygen masks in cockpit
FIRE
ENG 1 FIRE PUSH
What makes it turn red?
Both loops agree fire
One loop deferred/faulty other loop says fire
Both loops break within 5 seconds (flame effect)
FIRE
ENG 1 FIRE PUSH pushed out
What does it do
Silences CRC, Arms squibs
Closes:
- Hydraulic Fire Shut off Valve
- Low Press Fuel Valve
- IDG Return Valve (Deenergizing the FADEC)
- Generator Disconnect
- Engine Bleed Valve
- Pack Valve
FIRE
ENGINE 1 FIRE TEST PB
What do you see
7: CRC + Mast Warning Light ECAM ENG Fire PB light SQUIB Light DISCH light Fire Light on ENG panel
- FIRE lights do not illuminate in case of Engine Fire Detection Loop A (Loop B ENG 2) fault on ENG 1/2.
FIRE
APU FIRE PUSH pushed out
What does it do
- APU Shutdown
-Silences CRC
-Arms SQUIB
CLOSES:
-APU LP Fuel Valve
-APU fuel pump
-APU Gen deactivated
-APU Bleed Valve
-Xbleed valve
FIRE
