FLIGHT LAWS Flashcards
How do you get out of Normal Law
Multiple failures of redundant systems or you enter an abnormal upset
What bank protections do you have in normal law
67 degrees of max bank, aircraft will stop trimming at 33 degrees of bank
What pitch protections do you have in normal law?
Max pitch up is 20-30 degrees depending on speed and configuration
Max pitch down is 15 degrees
What pitch control, what roll control do you have in normal law?
Pitch - load control
Roll - rate of roll control
What kind of pitch control do you have in alternate law, what kind of roll control do you have in alternate law?
Pitch - Load Control
Roll - Direct
What kind of pitch control do you have in direct law, what kind of roll control do you have?
Pitch - Direct; Roll - Direct
What kind of yaw protections do you have in normal law?
Yaw dampening and turn coordination
What kind of yaw protections do you have in alternate law?
Damping only, no turn coordination
What kind of protections do you have in direct law?
None
What kind of bank protections do you have in alternate law?
None
What kind of pitch protections do you have in alternate law?
None
What kind of load protections do you have in normal law
CLean configuration - -1 g to 2.5 g’s
Flaps or slats out - 0 g to 2.0 g’s
What kind of speed protections do you have with normal law?
High speed protections and low speed protections
What kind of AOA protections do you have in normal law?
VLS, A Prot, A Max (Floor)
What happens when you get into alpha prot?
Bank is limited to 45 degrees Auto pilot kicks off Speed brakes retract Side stick goes to AOA Pitch up trim inhibited
What happens in high speed protection?
Bank angle limited to 40 degrees
Auto pilot off
Seeks level bank
Pitches up/ Nose up movement
What speeds take you into alternate law
Abnormal attitude
Going faster than 440 knots or Mach .91
Going slower than 60kts
What bank angle takes you out of normal law?
Abnormal attitude
125 degrees of bank
What pitch attitude takes you out of normal law?
Abnormal attitude
50 degrees pitch up, -30 degrees pitch down
What does alpha floor do? And what is it a function of?
It adds toga thrust and reduces angle of attack, it is a function of auto thrust. (Avail from Liftoff to 100RA.)
Do we have a load meter on the airplane?
Yes. It displays above the clock when pulling 1.4 positive g’s or .7 negative g’s
Is Alpha Floor available in Alternate Law? Direct Law?
No
How do you get out of TOGA LK?
Flight Crew disconnect of A/THR
Explain Normal-law flight mode
Load factor demand mode with auto trim and protection throughout the flight envelope.
