Lesson 10 - Dyslipoproteins Flashcards
Type I
Hyper-Chylomicronemia (low levels lipase for lipoprotein or low Apo C-II
Type II - a
Hyper-Cholesterolenmia without Hyper-TG
Type II-b
Hyper-Cholesterolemia With Hyper-TG
Type III
Apo-E problem.. IDL affected
Type IV
Hyper-TG without Chylomicrons
Type V
Hyper-TG With Chylomicrons
Hyper-Lipidemia
Inc Cholest / TG
It can also determine Hyper-Lipoprtenemia
Primary = No underlying condition
2ndary = Manifestation of other problem
Metabolic Syndrome
Mix of risk factors with metabolic origin
Increase risk of atherosclerotic CVD
Seen with insulin resistance
Fam. Hyper-Chylomicronemia
Inc T.G >1000mg/dL due to chylomicronemia
Dec clearance of chylomicrons = Dec lipase
Fam. Lipoprotenimia Lipase defiency
Hyper- TG causes dec LPL VLDL [ ] = normal but HDL and LDL = dec. Apo C-II = normal Decrease cholesterol = not a good thing... because you need it to make hormones.
Fam. Hyper-TG
Inc T.G due to Lg VLDL - Polygenic ori.
Seen in diabetic/Obese/Hypertension/CVD
Hyperprotenemia & HyperLipoprotenemia
Dec. Na+ in pseudohyponatremia (lesson 3)
Fam. Hyper-Cholesterolemia
Inc. LDL [ ] due to Inc. LDL , the liver tissue will use
Scavenger-R will take all the oxidized LDL and form Foam cells.. due to eaten up by macrophages
